What do you do for the Flea?

I manage day of operations at our ABGB monthly event as well as occasionally other market sites. I also occasionally handle bar tending duties at Austin Flea events.

How long have you worked for the Flea?

I started helping out bartending at a fundraiser Austin Flea hosted at Still in August of 2018.

What’s your favorite part of the Flea?

I really like getting to know and hang out with some of the vendors and checking out their products and I like the different locations we work with to host the markets.

How/why you were drawn into being part of the team?

I met Kristin and Rebecca as a vendor at Radio in 2017, then again in a couple of months when I volunteered for the Texas Craft Brewers Fest. From that point on we kept in contact and after Kristin tapped me to bartend an event she then asked if I would like to help out more often. It fit in well with my own self-employment schedule at the time and got me out of the house and around people on a more regular basis.

When you’re not Fleaing, what do you like to do?

When I'm not bartending at Jester King Brewery I am often outside somewhere, usually hiking, or at another brewery, drinking.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Until recently I was a self-employed sign maker who even vended with the Flea once a few years ago, so I definitely appreciate all our vendors and the hard work that goes into the things they make or collect. It's a unique crowd of individuals for sure and it's always interesting to check out what they have and how they're doing.
